During building construction we do
inspections both visual and using an Infrared Thermographic Camera.
We look for:
- Construction defects that have resulted in or could result
in water damage.
- Any water inside the building envelope.
We document that drywall is dry and mold free before closing
up any walls, shafts and/or cavities. |
 |
No matter how careful one is, there
may be some mold growth from time to time on drywall or wood during
construction. |
 |
In addition to our inspection reports,
we recommend procedures and provide training for builders to cost
effectively and correctly take care of such issues with in-house
staff. We are oftentimes asked to provide remediation plans; supervise;
do final testing and to certify and/or warranty such work. |
 |
In addition to mold and moisture investigation and inspection
services, we provide training for builders on handling typical
post-construction emergency water damage problems. In particular,
training focuses on how to dry out and disinfect wall cavities;
plenums; and other areas that are typically not properly dried
by moisture abatement / disaster recovery firms. Ask for copies
of our publications dealing with "Water Damaged Construction
Materials" and "Procedures of Wall Cavity Dry Out."
